The 2011 Australia-China Youth Dialogue Secretariat are pleased to announce that the successful Australian and Chinese delegates for this year's Dialogue have now been selected and notified.

The organising team received a large number of exceptionally high calibre applications and are confident that the final delegation represents the diversity and dynamism of future Australia-China engagement across sectors such as education, NGOs and development, law, sport, business, creative industries and media. The team wishes to sincerely thank all applicants for their time, and encourage them to apply for the 2012 Dialogue. Successful delegate profiles will be online soon.

Welcome to the Australia-China Youth Dialogue (ACYD) website. Following the success of the 2010 ACYD, the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA) is proud to bring the ACYD to Australia for 2011.

The ACYD Secretariat remains committed to the founding vision of the ACYD: bringing youth leaders together in an environment fostering learning, mutual understanding, respect and future friendships -- in a frank and forthright fashion -- for the benefit of the long-term Australia-China relationship.

Departing from the 2010 ACYD, this year’s sessions will tend to be focussed on Australia, guided by the theme of ‘China in Australia’. Delegates will explore: the role of the Chinese diaspora in Australia; Indigenous Australia relations; the Australia-China strategic resources trade dynamic; cultural transfer and creative industries between Australia and China; China and social media; and the role of China internationally.

This year’s Dialogue will offer delegates an opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the state of the Australia-China relationship through an increased number of sessions. These sessions will be held at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, the Australia-China Business Council (ACBC), Sydney, and the Lowy Institute for International Policy, Sydney.
