China has grown rapidly – often at double-digit rates – for more than three decades
by following a strategy of high investment, strong export orientation and energy-intensive
manufacturing. While this growth lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty, it also heightened problems of inequality – personal, regional and urban-rural – and intensified pollution, congestion and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

On 21st May, 2015 the Australian Ambassador to China H.E. Frances Adamson hosted a dialogue with Chinese youth about the Australia-China relations. ACYD alumni are also invited to the event. The dialogue is organised by the Australian Embassy and All-China Youth Federation. Guests from ACYF and medias also attended the event.

ACYD Founder is Awarded 2015 ANU Young Alumnus of the Year
On Saturday, 28 March, Henry Makeham, the ACYD’s Founder and Chair of the Board, was co-awarded the 2015 Australian National University Young Alumnus of the Year award.
The Award recognised Henry’s efforts in promoting Australia-China youth relations and public diplomacy via the Australia-China Youth Dialogue, the Australia-China Youth Association, and the Australia-China Young Professionals Initiative.
